While completing her Bachelor degree in Physical Education and Master of Education (Human Movement), Georgina worked in the UniGym and UniSwim programs at the University at Western Australia. On completion of her studies, she continued at UniGym while also running a Kindy gym program and running her own business working with children with movement disorders.
In 2003, Georgina commenced work at the Cerebral Palsy Association (now Ability Centre) as the swimming facilitator before moving into the Early Intervention Program in 2005. Since then Georgina has worked closely with Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists demonstrating a wealth of experience in providing effective interventions. Georgina is HANEN and Keyword Sign trained.
In 2012 Georgina commenced her role as an Allied Healthy Assistant in the iRehab program consolidating her skills in providing multidisciplinary activity based rehabilitation programs. Georgina also has extensive experience as a Research Assistant having instrumental contributions for multiple studies in the areas of Speech Pathology (PROMPT for the degree of PhD) and Physiotherapy (Functional Electrical Stimulation for the degree of PhD) and the recent iStride Locomotor Training Study (Post-Doctorate Fellowship).
The iStride study has consolidated Georgina’s extensive experience and skill in in gait/locomotor training and Functional Electrical Stimulation. Georgina has a passion for helping children achieve their true potential and is very excited to be part of the Healthy Strides Foundation.
