CAITLYN KERON

2020

Caitlyn’s interest in paediatric rehabilitation is what sparked her interest toI set out to get some first-hand experience. Caitlyn achieved this by volunteering with the Healthy Strides Foundation whilst studying Occupational Therapy at Curtin University.

2022

In Caitlyn’s final year of study, Caitlyn was formally invited to join the Healthy Strides team as a Therapy Assistant, working full-time in-between placement blocks. During this time, Caitlyn also dedicated time to complete her Honours Research Thesis, where we sought to understand the experience of caregivers of children with disabilities in school transport.

Having worked with this population and hearing first-hand from families the challenges that lie within their everyday routine, Caitlyn became increasingly passionate to contribute to the literature to improve the quality of life and participation for children with a disability and their families.

2023

After graduating from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science – Occupational Therapy (Hons) in 2022, Caitlyn joined the team as an Occupational Therapist as part of the new graduate program.

In addition to her clinical and research roles, Caitlyn will be a core contributor to the Participate App and translating knowledge to support families to access local playgrounds appropriate to their preferences and needs.
