Loren graduated with a bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from Edith Cowan University in 2016. It was there and on final year placement at PMH that she discovered her passion for working with children, specifically in the field of neurological rehabilitation. In her final year at university in 2015 Loren began working as an allied health assistant in PMH’s outpatient intensive rehab program (iRehab) and from this has gained invaluable experience working with children and families with diverse needs and challenges.
Working within this multidisciplinary team environment has allowed Loren to gain skills across Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech interventions for children with neurological conditions and injuries.
In 2016 Loren joined the iStride research project as a research assistant providing intensive locomotor training and Functional Electrical Stimulation to children with cerebral palsy. This has been a truly rewarding and inspiring experience working on this project and ignited Loren’s interest in research within this field.
