Lucy graduated with a Bachelor of Science Speech Pathology from Curtin University in 2012. Having always wanted to work with children and their families, she began her career working for the Child Development Service in WA providing services to children with speech and language delays. Whilst undertaking this role Lucy also worked in paediatric private practice supporting families of children with developmental disabilities.
In 2016 Lucy’s growing interest in paediatric health care led her to work at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) for children. Here, Lucy held a number of positions including the role of Senior Speech Pathologist in the iRehab program. Lucy thoroughly enjoyed her time working with the iRehab team and gained great experience in providing intensive sub-acute rehabilitation to children predominantly presenting with neuro-developmental conditions.
In 2018 a change of scenery led Lucy to Melbourne where she completed fixed term contracts in the acute Speech Pathology team at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH). Here, Lucy worked with paediatric inpatients and outpatients presenting with communication and swallowing disorders from a variety of aetiologies.
Lucy currently works in early intervention disability services in Melbourne and also provides Clinical Education to Speech Pathology Students. Lucy is very excited to be part of the Healthy Strides team to support new service delivery models and work within a passionate multi-disciplinary team.
